The Aydinli Cave House is a small, family-run hotel right in the heart of old Göreme. Stylish and smart, it retains many of the rock-cut features of the traditional cave dwellings for which Cappadocia is famous. A stay here gives you a great chance to play at being a caveman or woman for a few days.
Most rooms have stone fireplaces. All have cool, travertine-lined bathrooms, some with Jacuzzis, most with walk-in showers and hamam basins. Then there are the surprises - ancient rock-cut mangers, wheat and wine storage units, and huge chimneys turned into the sort of quirky features that make this a real place to remember.
The hotel is decorated throughout with locally-made carpets, attractive fabrics and reminders of the fast-vanishing traditional lifestyle. The higher you climb, the better the views!
Right at the top of the hotel the breakfast terrace looks straight out over the pretty older part of the village with its honey-colored houses and mosque. Breakfast consists of an open buffet, topped up with seasonal fruits and, perhaps, with freshly cooked börek.
